Amish Cabbage Noodles
Ingredients
12 oz egg noodles
4 cups cabbage, chopped
1 medium onion, diced
4 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (optional)
Instructions
Cook the Noodles
Boil egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Cook the Cabbage
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat.
Add onion and cook until soft.
Sauté Until Tender
Stir in chopped cabbage and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage becomes tender and lightly golden.
Combine
Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss well to coat in the buttery cabbage mixture.
Season
Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using. Stir in bacon for extra flavor.
Serve Warm
Enjoy as a main dish or hearty side.
