Baked BBQ Baby Back Ribs
Tender, juicy baby back ribs baked low and slow, then finished with sticky barbecue sauce for that perfect fall-off-the-bone texture.
Ingredients
2 racks baby back ribs
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the Ribs
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs for more tender meat.
Pat ribs dry with paper towels. - Season
Rub both sides with olive oil.
In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and cayenne.
Rub seasoning mixture evenly over the ribs. - Bake Low and Slow
Place ribs meat-side up on a foil-lined baking sheet or roasting pan.
Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until tender. - Add BBQ Sauce
Remove ribs from oven and carefully uncover.
Brush generously with barbecue sauce. - Finish the Ribs
Option 1 – Broiler:
Place under the broiler for 3–5 minutes until caramelized.
Option 2 – Grill:
Grill over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, brushing with more sauce.
