Cheese & Ham Breakfast Sandwich Bake
A warm, melty, golden breakfast bake that’s perfect for weekends, family brunch, or meal prep. Crispy on top, soft and cheesy inside!
🛒 Ingredients
2 eggs
Salt, to taste
100 ml milk
80–100 g mozzarella cheese, grated
6 slices of bread (white or sandwich bread)
3 slices cheddar cheese
3 slices ham
Optional: black pepper, dried oregano, chopped parsley
Butter or oil for greasing
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a bowl, whisk together:
Eggs
Milk
Salt (and pepper if using)
Mix until smooth.
2️⃣ Assemble the Sandwich Layers
Lightly grease a baking dish (about 8×8 inch / 20×20 cm).
Place 3 slices of bread on the bottom.
Layer with ham slices.
Add cheddar cheese slices on top.
Sprinkle half of the mozzarella.
Cover with the remaining 3 slices of bread.
3️⃣ Add the Custard
Slowly pour the egg and milk mixture evenly over the bread.
Gently press down so the bread absorbs the mixture.
Let sit for 5–10 minutes for best texture.
4️⃣ Top & Bake
Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes, or until:
Top is golden
Cheese is melted
Center is set
5️⃣ Serve
Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
