Soft Skillet Flatbread (Layered Pan Bread)
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp instant yeast
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp oil or melted butter
Extra oil or butter for brushing
Instructions
Make the Dough
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
Add warm water and oil, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Divide the Dough
Divide dough into 6–8 equal balls.
Create Layers
Roll each ball thin, brush lightly with oil or melted butter, then roll into a spiral or fold into layers.
Let rest for 10 minutes.
Roll Again
Gently flatten each dough spiral into a round flatbread.
Cook in Skillet
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Cook each flatbread for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown spots appear and bread is cooked through.
Serve Warm
Brush with butter if desired.

For extra flaky layers, brush generously with butter before folding.
